Purpose The purpose of this paper is to determine the effect of the work environment, leadership style and organizational culture on job satisfaction and its implication toward the performance of the employees. Design/methodology/approach The research population was the whole 642 employees of Parador Hotels and Resorts, Indonesia. The amount of the samples was determined with the formula of Slovin, and the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) sample consideration was equal to 200 employees. As many as 179 questionnaires were returned and sent for analysis. Proportionate stratified sampling was used for the sampling technique, and sample elements were determined by accidental sampling method. The analytical method used in this study was descriptive statistics and SEM–Partial Least Square with IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (IBM SPSS) Statistics 22.0 software and WarpPLS 3.0 program. Findings The results show that work environment, leadership style and organizational culture have a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction, but only the leadership style has a positive and significant effect on the employee performance. Job satisfaction does not give a significant and positive effect on employee performance and it is not a mediating variable. Originality/value As indicated by the findings, the role of leaders in hotel industry, in this case general manager (gm), is of importance. Without a high-quality gm, job satisfaction and organizational culture will not be achieved.

AbstractBeginning in 2020, humanity throughout the world was shaken by the Corona Virus pandemic (Covid-19) which caused panic everywhere. Thousands of people were infected and thousands more died. For in Indonesia, the government has given appeals to the community in overcoming this epidemic to be effective and efficient. But in reality, there are still many Indonesian people who do not heed this appeal. Therefore, this study aims to analyze why some people bring up these behaviors, and how to overcome them. The research method used by this research is the study of literature with a descriptive analysis approach. The results show that the behavior displayed by people who do not comply with government appeals is based on cognitive biases. In addition to analyzing the behavior of Indonesian people and how to handle it, this article also presents tips for maintaining mental well-being in a positive psychological approach.Keywords: Pandemic; Covid-19; Cognitive Bias; Mental Welfare AbstrakAwal tahun 2020 ini umat manusia di seluruh dunia digoncang dengan pandemi Virus Corona (Covid-19) yang membuat kepanikan dimana-mana. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa mengapa sebagian masyarakat memunculkan perilaku tersebut, dan bagaimana cara mengatasinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh penelitian ini adalah studi kepustakaan dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Hasil menunjukan bahwa perilaku yang ditampilkan oleh orang yang tidak mematuhi himbauan pemerintah didasari oleh bias kognitif. Selain menganalisa perilaku masyarakat Indonesia dan cara menanganinya, maka artikel ini juga memaparkan kiat-kiat menjaga kesejahteraan jiwa dalam pendekatan psikologi positif.Kata Kunci: Pandemi; Covid-19; Bias Kognitif; Kesejahteraan Jiwa

Effect of work motivation and job satisfaction on employee performance: Mediating role of employee engagement

Technological developments are things that must be followed by companies to achieve a competitive advantage to improve performance. To achieve and improve performance, companies need active employee engagement by encouraging motivation and fulfilling their job satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the effect of motivation and job satisfaction on performance with employee engagement as a mediating variable. The research sample is Information Technology (IT) companies located in the cities of Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia. Research respondents are system developers who handle system development activities for a project or part of an ongoing project. By using the convenience sampling technique 103 responses were obtained from IT developers. The research model analysis method uses Partial Least Square (PLS) with SMART PLS Ver 3.0 software. Empirical findings prove that motivation has a positive effect on the performance of IT employees, while job satisfaction is independent. Employee engagement does not directly affect employee performance, but the effect of mediation through motivation and job satisfaction can have a significant effect on employee performance. The research findings have managerial implications, in increasing high employee involvement, motivation needs to be encouraged to be more active and innovative, and facilitate the achievement of the desired results. PENTINGNYA PENDIDIKAN BAGI MANUSIA

Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan, memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya pendidikan bagi manusia serta memberikan motivasi kepada warga masyarakat di Desa Mulyasejati Kecamatan Ciampel Kabupaten Karawang. Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat ini merupakan wahana bagi Program Studi PGSD untuk mengabdikan keilmuannya. Khalayak sasaran Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah Para warga sekitar Desa Mulyasejati Kecamatan Ciampel Kabupaten Karawang yang merupakan warga yang bermatapencaharian sebagai petani, buruh, dan juga ibu rumah tangga dan anak-anak usia Sekolah Dasar yang berjumlah 45 orang dari yang direncanakan 80 orang. Metode kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan dan sosialisasi yang dikemas dalam bentuk workshop selama 1 hari mengenai penyampaian materi hakikat manusia, hakekat manusia dan kebutuhan akan pendidikan, pengertian pendidikan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat berupa workshop ini didukung oleh beberapa faktor yang memberikan banyak kontribusi atas keberhasilan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat. Pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan workshop, menggunakan metode ceramah yaitu dengan teknik presentasi, dilanjutkan dengan diskusi tanya jawab sebagai bentuk kegiatan workshop. Hasil pelaksanaan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat menunjukkan tingkat pemahaman peserta pengabdian kepada masyarakat mengenai pentingnya pendidikan, peserta lebih tersadarkan akan pentingnya pendidikan dan memiliki motivasi tinggi untuk terus melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. The Investigation of Consumers’ Behavior Intention in Using Green Skincare Products: A Pro-Environmental Behavior Model Approach

Increasing environmental awareness among societies is motivating consumers to use green cosmetic products. Green skincare products are the fastest growing sector in the worldwide market compared with other green cosmetic products. However, compared with general cosmetic products, the market share of green cosmetic products in Indonesia is relatively low. The present research investigated consumers’ purchasing intentions toward green skincare products in Indonesia using the pro-environmental reasoned action (PERA) model. A total of 251 female consumers participated in this study. Structural equation modeling was conducted to reveal the relationships between the five factors in the PERA model. The results indicated that perceived authority support (PAS) has a positive effect on perceived environmental concern (PEC). PAS and PEC have positive effects on attitude (AT) and subjective norms (SN), and AT and SN have positive effects on behavioral intention (BI) to purchase green skincare products, with the key factor being attitude. The PERA model was able to describe 62.6% of the BI to purchase green skincare products. Green skincare companies are recommended to produce more green skincare products and market the products by involving public figures and emphasizing the green attributes. Furthermore, we recommend that green skincare companies produce quality and sustainable products using quality processes, and be involved in pro-environmental activity to increase consumer attention to the green skincare products.

Factors affecting employee performance of PT.Kiyokuni Indonesia

Purpose This study aims to examine, analyze and explain the influence of leadership style, motivation and discipline to employee performance simultaneously and partially at PT. Kiyokuni Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach The primary data used in this study come from questionnaire on respondents’ motivation, discipline, leadership style and employee performance. From 451 people as the population, 82 respondents who met the criteria as a sample were chosen by using the Slovin formula. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS Version 22. Findings The results of this study indicate that there is a positive and significant influence simultaneously between leadership style, employee motivation and discipline on employee performance. The results also show that there is a positive and significant influence partially between leadership style, employee motivation and discipline on employee performance. Discipline is the variable of the most powerful influence on employee performance, so it needs special attention. Originality/value The respondents of this research work for a company which generates products through the work of hands (manual work) and aims to promote the products in the international market.

Integrating trust, religiosity and image into technology acceptance model: the case of the Islamic philanthropy in Indonesia

Purpose The purpose of this study is to propose an extended model of technology acceptance model (TAM) in the use of financial technology (Fintech) in the context of Islamic philanthropy, especially by studying and exploring the role of trust, image and religiosity in TAM, and to provide policy recommendation for the authorized organizations in Indonesia regarding several crucial factors that need to be considered so that Indonesian Muslims are willing to use Fintech for philanthropic purposes. Design/methodology/approach Online surveys were conducted to collect the data, of which 425 respondents have completed and returned the questionnaire. Multiple linear regression model and multi-variate analysis of variance are applied to test the statistical hypotheses. Findings This study supports the theory of reasoned action and the TAM. In which, the relationship between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness with TAM is determined by trust and religiosity. Research limitations/implications It is worth to note the limitation of this study lies in the sampling technique and data collection. Indonesia is a fast archipelago country and consists of 34 provinces, but not all of the provinces are represented in the sample. The selected respondent heavily depends on the previous respondent’s willingness to share the questionnaire. So that the number of respondents does not proportionate to region or province. Originality/value This study offers an extended model of TAM that has never been done before, namely, by exploring the role of trust, religiosity and image, in the context of Islamic philanthropy.

The effect of digital finance on financial stability

Digital finance plays a major role in achieving financial inclusion targets which have a positive impact on economic growth and people's welfare. One of the main elements of digital finance is digital payments, which are increasingly playing a role with the presence of e-commerce and financial technology (fintech). Apart from these positive impacts, digital finance is also feared to have a negative impact on financial system stability, especially in relation to systematic risk. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of risk factors in digital financial relations and financial stability. The research method used is the Multiple Linear Regression Model and Moderating Regression Analysis (MRA), using 120 samples of panel data for 10 years (2010 to 2019). The results show that market risk can moderate the influence of digital finance on financial stability, so that increased systematic risk will reduce the positive impact of digital finance on financial stability.

Review of artificial neural networks for gasoline, diesel and homogeneous charge compression ignition engine

In automotive applications, artificial neural network (ANN) is now considered as a favorable prediction tool. Since it does not need an understanding of the system or its underlying physics, an ANN model can be beneficial especially when the system is too complicated, and it is too costly to model it using a simulation program. Therefore, using ANN to model an internal combustion engine has been a growing research area in the last decade. Despite its promising capabilities, the use of ANN for engine applications needs deeper examination and further improvement. Research in ANN may reach its maturity and be saturated if the same approach is applied repeatedly with the same network type, training algorithm and input–output parameters. This review article critically discusses recent application of ANN in ICE. The discussion does not only include its use in the conventional engine (gasoline and diesel engine), but it also covers the ANN application in advanced combustion technology i.e., homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine. Overall, ANN has been successfully applied and it now becomes an indispensable tool to rapidly predict engine performance, combustion and emission characteristics. Practical implications and recommendations for future studies are presented at the end of this review.

The Effect of Product Quality, Service Quality, Customer Satisfaction on Customer Loyalty

Pujasera Melawai is one area in implementing the DKI Jakarta tourism office program. There are many traditional cuisine menus to choose from, one of which is Restaurant XYZ. This study determines the effect of the product, service quality, & customer satisfaction on customer loyalty in Restaurant XYZ. This study was based on quantitative methods with data collection using a questionnaire by accidental sampling and qualitative method by interviewing the owner of Restaurant XYZ. Quantitative data was taken by anyone who met the purchase requirements at least two times at Restaurant XYZ. The sample was 100 respondents that were analyzed by regression logistics. Based on the questionnaire result and interview with customers and key informants, the three indicators of product and service quality most influential to customer satisfaction and loyalty are response accuracy, product uniqueness, and employees' attention that makes customers happy and want to return restaurant. Based on the results, customer loyalty has a probability of 76.8 percent affected which product quality and customer satisfaction, service quality affects customer loyalty in Restaurant XYZ.

ESTIMATING ROLE OF GREEN FINANCING ON ENERGY SECURITY, ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL INTEGRATION OF BRI MEMBER COUNTRIES

China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) developed a system of interaction with the member countries to uplift economic and environmental integration. Through BRI, these countries are now developing in the field of financial management, energy and environment. This raised the importance to test nexus between energy, finance and environment-related constructs to present the empirical significance with policy suggestions. Therefore, considering the SDG number 7 for sustainable and reliable energy system, recent investigation attempted to determine that how green financing raise energy efficiency, and, to what extent economic and environmental integration act as a catalyst to enhance sustainability and reliability in energy systems of BRI member countries. For empirical analysis, study used the data from 2005–2018. The results have shown a significant variation in energy financing patterns, renewable energy sources consumption and carbon emission trends in BRI member nations. Moreover, the Probit regression analysis confirmed this variation between energy efficiency, financing patterns and carbon emission. Moreover, Human Development Index (HDI) and public financing in energy sector have shown a limited role in developing energy efficiency, which presented the room for private investment through green financing for energy efficiency maximization and this proved as significant in study context. This study also presented policy guidelines for key stakeholders.

Pengembangan Multimedia Pembelajaran Interaktif Berbasis Video untuk Meningkatkan Minat Belajar Siswa Sekolah Dasar

Antusiasme dan keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dipengaruhi oleh minat belajar siswa. Namun kenyataan di lapangan, minat belajar siswa masih sangatlah rendah. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan multimedia pembelajaran interaktif berbasis video dalam menarik minat belajar siswa Sekolah Dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research And Development (R&D) dengan tujuan membuat multimedia interaktif berbasis video untuk siswa sekolah dasar dan menentukan kualitas multimedia interaktif berdasarkan penilaian ahli media, ahli materi, dan penilaian teknis. Berdasarkan hasil temuan, ahli media memiliki nilai kelayakan rata-rata 82,9% dalam kategori baik, sedangkan ahli materi memiliki nilai kelayakan rata-rata 89,5% dalam kategori sangat baik. Uji coba kelompok kecil memiliki skor rata-rata 82% dalam kategori baik, dan uji coba lapangan memiliki skor rata-rata 80% dalam kategori baik, hasil penilaian guru memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 92,6% pada kategori sangat baik. Adapun perolehan nilai angket minat belajar siswa dengan uji-gain di mana pada aspek perasaan senang diperoleh N-gain sebesar 0,61 dan aspek perhatian siswa diperoleh n-gain sebesar 0,69. Sedangkan diperoleh N-gain keseluruhan aspek minat belajar siswa diperoleh 0,64 dengan peningkatan minat belajar siswa termasuk pada kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, Alhasil, pembuatan multimedia interaktif berbasis video dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa.

FinTech in the Small Food Business and Its Relation with Open Innovation

Small food businesses have difficulty accessing banks for financing. The growth of the sharing economy through financial technology (FinTech) makes it possible for small enterprises to receive access for credit. However, not all small business owners want to receive financing from FinTech companies. This study aims to analyze factors affecting FinTech adoption in small enterprises and its impact on business sustainability. The modified UTAUT 2 model was applied in this study. There were 184 small food business owners participating as respondents. To analyze the causal relationship between variables, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was implemented. The results of the research found that knowledge, safety perceptions, performance expectations, social influence, facilitation conditions and price values affect FinTech adoption by small food business owners. Moreover, FinTech adoption influences small food business sustainability. Several important recommendations for researchers, the FinTech industry and policy makers are formulated.

Effect of Training, Competence and Discipline on Employee Performance in Company (Case Study in PT. Asuransi Bangun Askrida)

The aim of the study is to determine the effect of training, competence and discipline on the performance of employees working in PT. Asuransi Bangun Askrida. The research results showed that the Training, Competency and Discipline Working jointly affect the performance of employees at PT. Asuransi bangun Askrida. Partially training has a positive influence on the performance with a value of 0.56(R2 = 0.56). Competence has a positive influence on the performance with a value of 0.464(R2=0.46) and Work Discipline has the greatest positive impact on employee performance with a value of 0,621(R2=062). Therefore, It means to discipline a good job it will improve employee performance and ultimately achieve the company's goals.

Determinants of firm’s value: Evidence from financial industry

The purpose of this study was to estimate and analyze the effect of dividend policy, profitability, firm size, leverage, and growth on firm value in financial sector listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2013 to 2017. A quantitative method is used for this research with 21 companies as research object, measured by purposive sampling techniques. The data analysis method used is panel data regression. The results show that firm size, leverage, and growth did not have any significant effect on firm value in financial sector companies in the period 2013-2017. However, dividend policy and profitability proved to have significant positive effects on firm value in financial sector companies for the period 2013-2017. Simultaneous results also show that dividend policy, profitability, firm size, leverage and growth had some effects on firm value.

Effect of Work Discipline, Work Motivation and Job Satisfaction on Employee Organizational Commitment in the Company (Case Study in PT. Dada Indonesia)

This study analyzed the influence of Work Discipline, Work Motivation and Job Satisfaction on Organizational Commitment employees in staffing levels. Object of this study is the level of staff employees at PT. Dada Indonesia. The research problem refers to the phenomenon of the data on the PT. DADA INDONESIA, which indicated the level of absenteeism or employee absenteeism average - average to reach 4-5 percent. The problem that arises is: how to improve employee Organizational Commitment. A modeling has been constructed and 4 (four) research hypotheses have been formulated. This researched used Proportional Random Sampling. The study used 148 respondents and the overall level of staff respondents were employees of PT. Dada Indonesia. The results of this study show them that Work Discipline has positive effect on Organizational Commitment. Work Motivation has positive effect on Organizational Commitment. Job satisfaction has positive influence on Organizational Commitment. Work discipline, work motivation and job satisfaction has positive influence on Organizational Commitment.

Plan do check action (PDCA) method: literature review and research issues

The development of the industry that is increasingly making businesses try to be competitive by increasing technical knowledge and improving systems both internally and externally. PDCA is a quality management system that is used as a continuous improve­ment tool that is widely used in the service and manufacturing sectors. PDCA activities consist of four steps namely Plan, Do, Check, and Action with repeated stages forming like a circle. PDCA is a continuous improvement tool that is widely used in the services and manufacturing sector. The cycle of PDCA begins with small to check possible effects on systems, but then eventually progresses to larger and more specific improvements. The results of the implementation PDCA method can be used to solve the problems of qualitative and quantitative data problems that have been widely applied in the service and manufacturing sectors for continuous improvement and as a work pattern in improving a process or system in an organization and increasing productivity. The method used in this research is the literature review research paper has been published in 2015-2020 that have consistently applied the PDCA cycle. The result of this literature review is to describe the relationship between thinking or gaps in theoretical and practical thinking about the application of the PDCA method and the successful implementation in the service and manufacturing sectors as a contribution to further research.

Potential of Soil Stabilization Using Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) and Fly Ash via Geopolymerization Method: A Review

Geopolymers, or also known as alkali-activated binders, have recently emerged as a viable alternative to conventional binders (cement) for soil stabilization. Geopolymers employ alkaline activation of industrial waste to create cementitious products inside treated soils, increasing the clayey soils' mechanical and physical qualities. This paper aims to review the utilization of fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS)-based geopolymers for soil stabilization by enhancing strength. Previous research only used one type of precursor: fly ash or GGBFS, but the strength value obtained did not meet the ASTM D 4609 (<0.8 Mpa) standard required for soil-stabilizing criteria of road construction applications. This current research focused on the combination of two types of precursors, which are fly ash and GGBFS. The findings of an unconfined compressive strength (UCS) test on stabilized soil samples were discussed. Finally, the paper concludes that GGBFS and fly-ash-based geo-polymers for soil stabilization techniques can be successfully used as a binder for soil stabilization. However, additional research is required to meet the requirement of ASTM D 4609 standard in road construction applications, particularly in subgrade layers.

MODEL KEPUASAN PELANGGAN: ANALISIS KUALITAS PRODUK DAN KUALITAS LAYANAN TERHADAP CITRA MEREK PADA GIANT CITRA RAYA JAKARTA

This study aims to analyze the effect of product quality and service quality on brand image and customer satisfaction either partially or simultaneously on Giant Citra Raya Tangerang. The population of this study is Giant Citra Raya customers which averages 2,070,823 / 12/30 = 5752 per day. The sample in this research using Slovin formula is 152 customers. Quantitative analysis method using path analysis, followed by determination analysis (R Square), partial hypothesis testing (t test) and simultaneous (F test) with alpha 5 percent. Before further analyzed first tested the instrument and test the classical assumption. Analytical tool using SPSS version 21.0 for windows. The result of the research shows that product quality and service quality are partially and simultaneously have positive and significant effect on brand image and customer satisfaction, and brand image has influence to customer satisfaction at Giant Citra Raya Tangerang.
