OBJECTIVE: To fabricate an innovative scaffold for lung cancer cell culture and establish a three-dimensional lung cancer model in vitro, and to reveal the differences in biological functions of lung cancer cells under the two-dimensional and three-dimensional culture conditions. METHODS: We chose agarose and alginate as the scaffold materials, and 3D printing technique was applied to construct cell culture scaffold. 95D cells were co-cultured with this scaffold. The differences of cell morphology, proliferation ability, protein expression, etc. in the cells cultured under 2D and 3D cultural conditions were evaluated by light microscopy using HE staining, MTT assay, scanning electron microscopy, and Western blot analysis. RESULTS: Cells cultured in 2D wells displayed a spindle and polygonal morphology, whereas those grown in the 3D culture aggregated into spheroids, which invaded, migrated and disseminated into the surrounding scaffold. MTT assay showed that the proliferation rates of the 3D-cultured cells for 2-6 days were significantly lower than, but those cultured for 8-9 days were significantly higher than that of the 2D-cultured cells, indicating that proliferative activity of the cells grown in 2D cultures for 8-9 days was inhibited. In contrast, cells grown on 3D scaffolds still maintained a higher proliferation. The Western blot assay showed that the expression of Cdc42, p53, mTOR were significantly down-regulated in 3D scaffold-cultured group (0.529±0.103, 0.820±0.038 vs. 1.967±0.066), compared with that of the 2D-cultured group (3.063±0.139, 1.738±0.122 vs. 2.472±0.151) (P<0.05 for all), while the expression of MMP-2 was up-regulated in the 3D-cultured cells (1.110±0.029), significantly higher than that of the 2D-cultured cells (0.017±0.001) (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The cell morphology, proliferation and associated protein expression of lung cancer cells in 3D-culture systems are distinctively different as compared to those of the 2D-cultural cells. 3D-bioprinted agarose-alginate scaffold can better mimic the growth microenvironment of lung cancer in vivo and may provide a promising model for lung cancer research in vitro.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE RESTING METABOLIC RATE OF THE ROOT VOLE AT HIGH ALTITUDES
Keita Un
19865

In order to study the characteristics of energy metabolism in rodents native to high altitudes, the resting metabolic rate (RMR) of the root vole (Microtus oeconomus Pallas) was measured at several ambient temperatures (Ta) between 5℃-35℃ at the Research Station of Alpine Meadow Ecosystem, Menyuan, Qinghai (3200M albove sea level). There were three experiments taken during the green up period (May), the exuberance period (July-Aug. and the withering period (Sep. -Oct.) of the grass growth. The results showed that the RMR decreased while the Ta increased. The critical temperature (Tc) was 30℃ (green up period and the withering period) and 32.5℃ (Exuberance period). The RMR was significantly higher in the exuberance period (5.11 mlO/g.h) and lower in other periods (4.87 mlO/g.h, 4.96 mlO/g.h respectively. The RMR of the root vole was clearly higher than that of the other voles with similar body size. However, the minimum thermal conductance (Cm) of the root vote was nearly the same as that of the other voles. Therefore the root vole ma,y be adapted to cold weather in high altitudes mainly by increasing their metabolic rate. The normal body temperature (Tb) of the root vole was moderately lower (34℃) than that of the other rodents. When the Ta changed between 5℃-35℃, the Tb fluctuates 3℃-4℃.So we found three following characteristics which may be elucidate the root vole's adaptation to environmental temperature in high altitude: the higher level of RMR; the lower level of normal Tb; and the ability of relaxing the precision of homothermy in certian ranges.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical characteristics, renal pathology, treatment and prognosis of children with atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome associated with H factor antibody. METHOD: Four children less than 18 yr of age admitted from Nov. 2010 to May 2011 in Peking University First Hospital were included. They all met the criteria for atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome and with positive serum anti factor H antibody. They aged from 5 to 11 yr. Data on clinical manifestations, renal pathology, treatment and prognosis were analyzed. RESULT: All of the 4 cases had gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, or abdominal distension. None of them had diarrhea. Two children had hypertension. One child had episodes of convulsion. One child had history of atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome. All of them had low serum complement C3. Three of them had low serum factor H (38.0, 88.4, 209.4 mg/L). All of them had serum antibody to factor H (1: 7 068, 1: 1 110, 1: 174, and 1: 869). Three of them received renal biopsy, all of them showed thrombotic microangiopathy. All of them were treated with steroid combined with mycophenolate mofetil. Two children received plasma exchange. They were followed up for 8 to 29 months. The renal function became normal and proteinuria relieved in all of them. The serum factor H concentration increased to 405.8, 155.8 and 438.4 mg/L, respectively. The titer of anti factor H antibody decreased to 1: 119, 1: 170, 1: 123, and 1: 674, respectively. CONCLUSION: Gastrointestinal symptom is common in children with atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome associated with H factor antibody. Hypocomplementemia was observed in all of them. Steroid combined with mycophenolate mofetil seemed to be effective for them. The monitoring of serum factor H and antibody to factor H may help diagnosis and treatment.

The Maximum Fuzzy Cover and Their Application in Fuzzy Decision-Making

19981

Frist of all, in expert systems we introduced that, the fuzzy production rule are used for method of knowledge representation. In fuzzy production rule, the rule is executed if the degree of matching is not less than a certain threshold A.Next, the matching function is difined as the degree of similarity between M and D, can be measured. By using the strength of confirmation calculation method, the strength of confirmation that the consequence di, caused by M can be calculated. Finally, an algorithm is proposed to generate the maximum fuzzy cover of M and their application in fuzzy decision-making.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE FINITE NON-SIMPLE GROUPS WHICH POSSESS A SIMPLE GROUP AS THE MAXIMAL SUBGROUP
Zhuoqi Duan
1988· Journal of Southwest China Normal University

In this paper, the structure of the finite non-simple groups which possess a simple group as the maximal subgroup is studied and solved.Let G be a finite group, H be a maximal subgroup of G, the main results are:1. If H is of order p (p: prime), G is the group of order p2, or the abelian group of order pq, or the minimal non-nilpotent group of order pqβ (p≠q2 primes, β: the exponent of q (mod p)); and2. If H is non-abelian and simple but G is not simple, G is one of the following groups:(i) H×K; H is a non-abelian simple group, K is of prime order. (ii) H1×H2; H1, H2 are isomorphic non-abelian simple groups. (iii) H≤G; G/H is of prime order, H is the non-abelian simple group which without normal complement in G. And(iv) G=HN; H∩N=1, H is a non-abelian simple group, N is a non-simple characteristic-simple group, and H irreducibly acts on N by conjugation.Further, the relations among the simple maximal subgroups of the finite group have also been discussed in this paper.

2022· Circulationdoi:10.1161/circ.146.suppl_1.10180

Introduction: Systolic blood pressure (SBP) time in target range (TTR) was proven to be a new parameter to predict cardiovascular outcomes. However, the prognostic value for cognitive function is unclear. Hypothesis: Higher TTR was associated with lower incidence of cognitive outcomes. Methods: We performed a post hoc analysis from the Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial (SPRINT), a randomized controlled trial comparing intensive (<120 mm Hg) and standard (<140 mm Hg) SBP interventions in 9361 individuals with hypertension. SBP target range was defined as 110 to 130 mm Hg for the intensive group and 120 to 140 mm Hg for the standard group. Participants who had less than 3 SBP measurements during this period or no cognitive assessment in the follow-up were excluded. TTR was calculated by linear interpolation using SBP from baseline to the first 3 months of follow-up. Cognitive outcomes were probable dementia, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and a composite of probable dementia or MCI. Cox regression models were used to evaluate the relationship between TTR and cognitive outcomes. Results: A total of 8415 patients were included in this study. In univariate Cox regression analysis, higher time in target range was associated with lower risk of probable dementia. After adjustment for age, sex and race, a 1-SD increase in TTR was independently associated with a 16% lower risk of probable dementia (hazard ratio [HR] =0.84, 95% CI 0.75-0.93, P =0.002) (Figure). When we further added demographics, medical history and mean SBP to the multivariate Cox regression model, TTR remained significantly associated with a decreased risk of probable dementia (HR =0.84, 95% CI 0.74-0.96, P =0.012). No significant relationship was found between TTR and MCI or a composite of probable dementia or MCI. Conclusions: In this post hoc analysis of the SPRINT trial, SBP time in target range was an independent predictor of probable dementia beyond mean SBP levels.

The Optimum Checking and Replacing Model for the Cutting Tool of the Automatic Machine Tool
Yi Ren
2000

Through statistical analysis of more than1 0 0 times breakdown of cutting tools on the automatic machine tool, the checking and replacing model has been studied for cutting tool to machine only one part continuously. In this paper,by using of the D inspection method for the large- scale sample situation in the probability theory,it has been proved thatthe occurring law of cutting tool′s breakdown accords with the normal distribution. After figuring out the life- span distribution function of the system process, the multi- objective function equation has been obtained in which the unit expected loss of the qualified part is taken as objective and the checking interval as well as the regular replacement interval for cutting tool are variables.By means of enumeration and comparison methods to look for the solution on the microcomputer, the optimum checking interval and the optimum replacing strategy forthe cutting tool have been given which could bring outthe optimal economic profitin the system process.Since the occur- ring law of cutting tool′s breakdown accords the normal distribution, the improved model has been presented by adopting the regular unequal interval checking method and the better results than these of equal interval checking method are obtained. By using the algorithm mentioned above, the function has been solved fairly and the opti- mum solution has been got.In this paper two study cases are described. For case1 ,the inter- vals of replacing and checking are 369and 1 8respectively,the loss of unit qualified part is 4.61 5Yuan and it will be down to4.40 5Yuan if the unequal interval is adopted. For case2 , under complicated conditions, the intervals of replacing and thecking are30 6and2 8respective- ly,the loss of unit qualified part is 9.2 68Yuan and it will change to 9.0 4 7Yuan when using unequal interval. These results provide a more advantage proof for the improved model using the unequal interval checking method
