[Heb migrāʿâ]. Rebatements in the construction of the wall of the temple so that the side chambers could be constructed without actually being attached to the temple (1 Kgs 6:6; cf. Ezek 41:6-7). The distinction of the temple as a separate sacred space is thus preserved.
