Abstract The IR and Raman spectra and conformations of the ionic liquid 1‐ethyl‐3‐methyl‐1 H ‐imidazolium tetrafluoroborate, [EMIM] [BF 4 ] ( 6 ), were analyzed within the framework of scaled quantum mechanics (SQM).
